About Us

Rebel Time Records is based out of Hamilton/Kitchener Ontario, Canada. Our goals are to contribute to the building and strengthening of the already existing politically-active punk rock movement. We plan to do this through building a network of like-minded bands, individuals and projects, so that meaningful and message filled socially-conscious, positive and politically charged punk rock music can thrive and grow, regardless of its commercial viabilities. We work exclusively with DIY minded bands, most of which have had very little or no support outside of themselves. We realize we are nothing without these artists and strive to work with each artist in a way they are comfortable and that best helps them accomplish their aspirations.

Does all this mean we’re no fun? Not exactly. We believe in the “have your say, have you laugh” philosophy and we realize music alone is not an effective vehicle for social change. There has to be something after the music, real organization, real ideas and most importantly, real actions. Furthermore, we tend to like a wide variety of music, and we should be clear that we continually work with bands outside our immediate niche. However, with this project, we plan to provide the motivational soundtrack to social change, while attempting to provide a more extensive information base, outside of the music we release, that deals with many of our artists subject matter.
